Admit it, how many of you check your email first thing in the morning? I know that I do. My iPhone is plugged in on my nightstand and the first thing that I do in the morning is reach for it and see if I have any new texts or emails. This, however, is not the best way to start your morning. Checking your email first thing in the morning is distracting and turns your focus toward others and doing what others want you to do.

For a better day, make your morning routine about you. Take a walk, write in your journal, meditate, or exercise. These are all great ways to center yourself, practice good self-care, and prepare yourself for the rest of the day.

By investing a little time in yourself first thing in the morning, you can have more energy and focus to tackle the rest of your day. Making a small change like this can have a dramatic difference on the rest of your day!
